Introducing....Base Performance
DT launches new company
British racing driver Darren Turner today announced the launch of a brand new company offering specialist expertise to the motorsport and automotive industries. Base Performance has been created to assist with simulator set-up and development and also development of race and road cars. The company also offers coaching to improve driver performance both in cars and in simulators.
With ten years of experience in developing cutting-edge Formula One simulators, Turner has a unique insight into what can be achieved, without draining budgets.
“Testing and cost restrictions are pushing engineers to increasingly rely on simulators to develop and improve vehicles and drivers,” said Turner. “However, we see teams spending months and sometimes years transforming their simulator technology into a fully usable and dependable package, and this leads to increased costs and a lack of performance transferred to the track or road. What we offer is a blueprint to quickly develop and optimise simulators into workable tools, and to achieve better results; a confidential consultancy service designed to slash development time and increase efficiency.”
Additionally, Turner’s involvement in some of the most successful motorsport programmes in the world means he is ideally placed to advise on race and road car development. With the ability to drive, assess and provide feedback at the limit of a vehicle’s capability, whilst performing consistent drive cycles, he can provide a truly objective assessment.
Base Performance also works to develop racing drivers; whether it is helping them to get the maximum from their time in a simulator or indeed the more traditional style of driver coaching.
Detailed information on the services provided by Base Performance can be found at www.baseperformance.net.
Darren will be on track at Silverstone this weekend for the final round of the 2009 Le Mans Series where Aston Martin Racing will be gunning for a repeat of the marque’s success in the 1959 World Sportscar Championship.
