DT warms up at Silverstone

On target for marathon

Darren Turner is on target for a sub four-hour finish in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon next month after completing yesterday’s official warm-up half marathon in 1:51.06s.  The race was held, rather fittingly for Darren, at Silverstone on a course that takes in the world-famous Grand Prix circuit.

Over 10,000 runners entered the adidas Silverstone Half Marathon so Darren was pretty happy to finish in 1,510th place.

“I enjoyed running around Silverstone,” he said. “It’s a great way to see the development of the new Grand Prix track and I think I’ve covered nearly every inch of it now. A big thank you to Adidas and Profeet for the kit they supplied the BRDC marathon runners with. I’m looking forward to the marathon next month and hope we can continue to raise lots of money for CLIC Sargent. ”

Darren will be back on four wheels for his next race at Silverstone: round two of the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship in May.  A busy racing season that includes GT1, GT2 and LMP1 programmes for the Aston Martin Racing official works driver kicks off in four weeks with the first round of the Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard.
